Lansky Bros., the iconic “Clothier to the King,” has been a Memphis institution since 1946. Known for outfitting Elvis Presley and other legendary musicians, the Lansky family still operates it’s shop historic Peabody Hotel to this day. From signature musician-inspired styles to contemporary apparel, Lansky’s has become synonymous with Memphis, drawing in celebrities like Steven Tyler, Justin Timberlake, and Smokey Robinson to browse their racks.
As their business evolved, Lansky Bros. needed an e-commerce platform that could keep up with their legacy and modern demands. Their previous website no longer offered the robust features required to support their growing online store, and they turned to me for a solution.
Building on Shopify Premium, I designed a custom site that preserved Lansky’s classic-cool vibe while offering powerful tools to enhance the shopping experience. The design balances timeless style with functionality, featuring advanced predictive search, sophisticated sorting and filtering options, and a wishlist feature for customers. Social shopping was integrated through Instagram, allowing fans to shop directly from the platform. Importantly, I ensured all customer data and order history were seamlessly imported, so nothing was lost in the transition.
This project wasn’t just about functionality—it was about celebrating Lansky’s unique legacy and elevating it for a new era. Working on a site for such an iconic Memphis brand was both an honor and a creative challenge, blending the past and future into one seamless shopping experience. Side note: Since launching in 2020, the eCommerce website has been recently replaced with a different website. I designed this website in 2020 while I was Co-Founder of LAB Digital Creative, before beginning an independent design practice in early 2025.
