Evans, Taylor, Foster & Childress Architects (ETFC) is Memphis’ oldest architecture firm, with a legacy spanning over 115 years. Their work is woven into the city’s skyline, from historic landmarks to award-winning modern designs. When they approached me to redesign their website and refresh their brand identity, the goal was clear: honor their storied past while creating something fresh and forward-looking.
The challenge was balancing ETFC’s rich history with a clean, modern design that would resonate with today’s audience. They needed a site that could showcase their portfolio, highlight their architectural principles, and serve as a functional, easy-to-update platform for future projects.
For the design, I leaned into simplicity and elegance—crisp typography, ample white space, and a bold new logo paired with a striking color palette. A standout feature is the interactive historical timeline, which brings their 115-year legacy to life, showcasing the firm’s influence on Memphis architecture. The sortable portfolio and flip-card tiles add a layer of interactivity, making it easy for visitors to explore their work.
Within 45 days of launch, the firm landed three new projects—a testament to how thoughtful design can drive real results. This project was a joy to work on, blending history and creativity to help a remarkable firm tell its story. I designed this website and branding package in 2023 while I was Co-Founder of LAB Digital Creative, before beginning an independent design practice in early 2025.
