APA Division 18

APA Division 18 is a branch of the American Psychological Association (APA), bringing together students, academics, and psychologists dedicated to public service. Their members work in vital roles across hospitals, prisons, police and public safety departments, and veterans’ affairs, uniting to support those who serve others. As a smaller group within the broader APA, they needed a refreshed digital presence to better connect their nationwide community.

The challenge was twofold: Division 18 needed a new website to organize and showcase their resources while fostering a sense of connection among their members. Additionally, their logo, originally designed in the 1970s, felt outdated and no longer reflected their mission or modern identity.

I designed a fresh website that pairs gritty, stamp-like illustrations with clean, contemporary typography—a visual nod to the grounded, impactful work of their members. The site was structured to house subgroup information, events, webinars, leadership details, and news in an organized, intuitive way, ensuring members could easily find what they needed. For the logo, I delivered a modern refresh that aligned with their mission and brought a cohesive, updated look to the brand.

The result is a bold, modern identity for APA Division 18. Their new website is visually elegant and highly functional, giving members an organized and engaging hub to connect and access resources. This project was a rewarding opportunity to support an organization that uplifts those working in public service. I designed this website in 2023 while I was Co-Founder of LAB Digital Creative, before beginning an independent design practice in early 2025.
